Does the monitoring script slow down my website?
No. The script loads asynchronously, so the browser keeps building and showing your page while it downloads in the background.
Why it does not block your page
The snippet from Setup > Website > Monitoring adds one script element that loads https://monitor.tapper.ai/bundle.js with script.async = true. An async script downloads in parallel with your page and runs when it arrives, so your content does not wait for it. Through Google Tag Manager, it loads with the rest of your container.
The snippet's noscript part, a small image from protect.tapper.ai, loads only when JavaScript is turned off, so regular visitors never fetch it.
Where to see how the script loads
| Card | Dashboard tab | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Script initialization time (daily) | Geography, under Engagement | How long the script takes to initialize, day by day. Lower is better. |
| Clicks & failed script load % | Overview, under Script load | Ad clickers per day next to failed script loads, with the callout "Failed load rate {x}% of Google Ads clicks". |
If the failed-load rate jumps after a change to your site, check that nothing now blocks the script. A Content Security Policy that does not allow Tapper's hosts stops it completely: see Allow Tapper in your Content Security Policy.
