Low-level tracking templates override account-level tracking template

Tapper monitors ad clicks through an account-level tracking template in Google Ads. A template on a campaign, ad group or ad takes precedence, so Tapper's is ignored for those clicks. Two ways to resolve it:

  1. You do not need the lower-level template, for example a leftover from an earlier setup. Remove every lower-level template so Tapper's is the only one.
  2. You use it to add parameters to the landing page, such as {lpurl}?param1=value1&param2=value2, often for the campaign name in conversion tracking. Move the parameters to the Final URL suffix of each item that has a template, then remove the template.

Fix tracking on the Some ads skip Tapper's tracking banner makes the second change for you. See Fixing: final URL suffix conflicts and Fix campaigns, ad groups or ads that override Tapper's tracking.
