What happens when an IP address or range is blocked in Google Ads?

Google stops showing the campaign's ads to that address or range, so the campaign gets no new impressions, and no new clicks, from it.

Tapper adds the IP exclusion to the affected campaigns through the Google Ads API: automatically when your rules flag a click and blocking is on, or when you add the address on Setup > Excluded IPs.

Where you can see it

  • In Tapper, on the Exclusions page.
  • In Google Ads, in the campaign's settings under IP exclusions.
  • In Google Ads' Change history, which logs each change:

Tapper connects through your own Google sign-in, so the change is logged under the Google account that connected the ad account.

See What happens when Tapper excludes an IP in Google Ads.
