Lift only: what your workspace includes and leaves out
On this page
A Lift only workspace has Tapper Lift without Tapper Block, the product that puts Tapper's monitoring script on your website and blocks invalid traffic. Block's screens are left out, not dimmed, and connecting an ad account writes nothing into it.
What a Lift only workspace includes
- Lift on Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Snapchat Ads and Apple Ads, checked daily, once Tapper has set your workspace up. Empty on a new workspace? See No Lift recommendations yet.
- The Lift pages: Recommendations, Reasons, Results (with Activity), Products when the workspace has an online store, and Business details (General, Google Ads, Products, Meta, Measurement). See Lift: what it does and where to find it.
- A Lift dashboard: one page with Spend by platform, the Lift tiles (among them Impact, Open recommendations and Settings to review), then Upside, Top recommendations, Where the money leaks, the Meta panels with a Meta account, Settings watch and Recent account changes. See Lift on the dashboard.
- Setup: Ad accounts (Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Snapchat Ads, Apple Ads), Data sources and Mobile app.
What connecting an account does
An Owner or Admin connects. Tapper only reads the account:
| Platform | What Tapper does not set up |
|---|---|
| Google Ads | No account-level tracking template, conversion actions, user lists or audiences. |
| Meta Ads | No Tapper audience. No Meta pixel is needed, so an account without one connects. |
| TikTok Ads | No Tapper audience. No TikTok Pixel is needed. |
| Microsoft Ads | No tracking template, conversion goals, UET tag or remarketing lists. |
With Block, the same connection also sets Block up: see What Tapper creates in your Google Ads account.
Lift then changes a Google Ads account only when an Owner or Admin confirms a fix, or within an automation band you set. On other platforms the card's button, such as Open in Meta Ads Manager or Open in TikTok Ads Manager, takes you there to make the change. See Fix, mark as done, dismiss and revert and Automatic fixes and the Activity tab.
Also on Lift only:
- An account already connected in another Tapper workspace is refused.
- A Google Ads account gets a first check about 45 minutes after you connect, and the app says recommendations appear within a few hours. Other platforms get their first cards from a later daily check.
Steps: Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads.
What is not there
No monitoring script, no detection rules and no blocking, so every Block screen is left out:
| Where | With Block | Lift only |
|---|---|---|
| Setup wizard | Website monitoring and Detection rules steps | Neither step: it finishes on Lift's Recommendations |
| Sidebar | A Block section (Traffic, Exclusions or Flagged traffic, Experiments, Refunds) and a Lift section | A Lift section, no Block section |
| Dashboard | Several tabs, with Lift's tiles on Overview | One Lift page with no tabs |
| Entity status | Protected, Monitor-only, Needs attention or Not connected | Lift active, Needs attention or Not connected |
| Setup rows | Ad accounts, Website, Mobile app, Rule sets, Data sources, Excluded IPs | Ad accounts, Mobile app and Data sources; no protection switches on the ad account pages |
| Notices | Monitor-only and Google Ads setup doesn't match your protection rules, when they apply | Neither shown |
| Recommendations with no open cards | Review detection rules button | Review Lift settings button |
Also hidden:
- The sidebar rows Clicks, Exclusions (or Flagged traffic), Sources, Experiments, Refunds and Click stream, and every dashboard tab but Overview:
/dashboardis the Lift dashboard. - The entity tabs Web detection rules, Web click tracking, Website monitoring, the three Mobile app tabs, Excluded IPs and Click simulation. An entity opens on Google Ads.
- On the ad platform tabs: the audience card, the Protection column and bulk actions.
- The Mobile app row on the connect step.
Every Lift only entity has a default rule in monitor-only that cannot be switched to blocking. When Tapper enables Vantage for a Lift only workspace, the Tapper goals tab appears on the Google Ads page of Setup > Ad accounts.
Change to Vantage + Lift + Block, or back
An Owner or Admin can switch in Settings > General > Your products while no ad account is connected; switching adds Block's pages and setup steps. The steps and why the choice then locks: Choose your products.
