Ad account status: Connected, Needs reconnect, Not active, Needs attention

Every ad account connected to an entity has a card on the entity's platform tab: Google protection, Meta protection, TikTok protection or Microsoft protection. The chip on the card tells you whether Tapper can use the account.

What a card shows

  • A status chip: Connected, Needs reconnect, Not active or Needs attention.
  • Account ID · followed by the account's ID on that platform.
  • A button to open the account's campaigns: Manage campaigns (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads), Manage ad sets (Meta) or Manage ad groups (TikTok).
  • Only when the account is in error: a notice with the cause and the action, a Reconnect button and a Select for reconnect checkbox.
  • A ⋮ menu that holds Disconnect (see Disconnect an ad account).

Every cause, platform by platform

The notice on a card in error has two parts: the cause, then the action.

Reconnect one account or several

  • Reconnect appears only on a card in error. It takes you through the platform's sign-in and back to the same tab.
  • To fix several accounts with one sign-in, use Reconnect 2 selected (with your own count) in the toolbar above the cards. Every card in error starts with Select for reconnect ticked; untick any account that needs a different login.
  • A successful reconnect clears the error and the chip goes back to Connected. Any account the new sign-in cannot reach stays in error.
  • For Not active and Needs attention, fix the account on the platform first, as the card says, and reconnect after that.

Step by step, with the sign-in to use on each platform: Reconnect an ad account that stopped working.

While an account is in error

  • Tapper skips the account in its syncs until you reconnect it.
  • The dashboard banner about connecting a platform appears only when no account of that platform is connected. It does not appear for an account that is connected but in error.
