How Lift works on Apple Ads
Lift reads every App Store ad account in Apple Ads that is connected to an entity of your workspace, every day. The connection is read only: Tapper reads the account and never changes anything in it. To connect an account, see Connect Apple Ads for Lift.
Which accounts Lift reads
Lift reads an Apple Ads account on Lift only and Block + Lift workspaces alike, while all of this holds:
- The account is connected to an entity of your workspace.
- Its Apple Ads organization is linked to your workspace by Tapper's team.
- Tapper's user still has access to it in Apple Ads.
There is nothing to switch on: Lift's Setup has no Apple Ads section.
What Lift reads, and when
Performance, every day
Every day from 06:00 UTC, Tapper reads each account's reports from Apple Ads:
| What | Figures | Window |
|---|---|---|
| Campaigns, ad groups, keywords, ads and search terms, day by day | Spend in the account's own currency, impressions, taps, installs after a tap and after a view, new downloads and redownloads | The last 30 complete days, read again every day |
| Campaigns, hour by hour | Spend, impressions, taps and installs | The last 7 complete days |
| Impression share, for each app your campaigns promote | Your share range, rank and search popularity by country and search term, for the first slot and for all slots | The last 30 complete days in UTC |
| Suggested bids | Apple's suggested bid for each keyword | As Apple shows it on the day |
A day counts once it has ended in the account's own time zone at least 3 hours earlier. Because Lift reads the last 30 days again every day, figures that Apple corrects later replace the ones read before. Money is kept in the account's own currency and never converted.
Apple leaves search terms with few searches out of its report. For each keyword and day, Lift keeps what the listed search terms do not account for as one line, so a keyword's search terms still add up to the keyword.
When an account connects
Lift does not wait for 06:00 UTC. As soon as an account connects, Tapper reads its last 30 days, then goes back through its older history: day by day back to the account's first campaign (at most 1,095 days), and hour by hour and impression share across about the last year.
Once Tapper has set your workspace up, Lift also reads each newly connected account's structure and settings: its campaigns, ad groups, keywords, negative keywords, ads, product pages and the account itself. With them it reads Apple's change history for the last 6 months: what changed, the old and new values, and who made the change.
Access, every day
Every day at 04:30 UTC, Tapper checks which accounts its Apple user can still reach. When Apple no longer lists an account, for example because someone removed Tapper's user from your organization, Tapper stops reading it. Once Apple lists it for Tapper again, the reads start again.
What the Lift page shows for an Apple Ads account
- The page opens for Apple Ads. An entity whose only Lift account is on Apple Ads still opens the Lift page.
- The Apple Ads tab. Above the list, Apple Ads joins the platform tabs once the entity has an Apple Ads account connected.
- While the account has no card. The tab reads 0, and About the platform tabs, the help icon at the end of the tabs, reads "We're reading your Apple Ads account. First findings after 7 days of data." Pick Apple Ads with the Open status and no other filter, and the list shows the same words.
- An Apple Ads only entity. When the entity's only Lift account is on Apple Ads and it has no card, the page reads We're reading your Apple Ads account with "First findings after 7 days of data." in place of the list.
- Export report. The Lift report covers Google Ads, Meta Ads and TikTok Ads accounts. On an entity whose only Lift account is on Apple Ads, Export report is greyed out and reads "Available once a Google Ads, Meta Ads or TikTok Ads account is connected."
