How Lift works on LinkedIn Ads
Lift reads every LinkedIn Ads account connected to your workspace, on Lift only and Block + Lift workspaces alike. It reads the account and never changes anything in it. To connect an account, see Connect LinkedIn Ads for Lift.
Which accounts Lift reads
- Every LinkedIn Ads account connected to an entity, whatever its products. There is nothing to switch on: Lift's Setup has no LinkedIn section.
- LinkedIn test accounts cannot be connected, because LinkedIn reports no data for them.
- An account whose chip reads Needs reconnect is not read until you reconnect it: see Reconnect an ad account that stopped working.
What Lift reads, and when
Lift reads a newly connected LinkedIn account within about 15 minutes of the connect. If that read cannot finish, Lift tries again the next day.
It reads the account and every campaign, ad set and ad in it, using Campaign Manager's names:
| Campaign Manager | What Lift keeps |
|---|---|
| The ad account | Its name, type, currency, status and serving status. |
| Campaigns | How many there are. |
| Ad sets | How many there are. |
| Ads | How many there are. |
Where LinkedIn lets your role see them, Lift also reads the account's conversions and the campaigns they are linked to, its Insight Tag domains, and its LinkedIn Audience Network preferences.
What the Lift page shows for a LinkedIn account
Once an entity has a LinkedIn Ads account, a LinkedIn Ads tab appears above the Lift list, next to All and the tabs of your other platforms. Lift raises no cards on a LinkedIn Ads account, so the tab reads 0.
- Pick LinkedIn Ads and the list reads "Nothing in Open matches the current filters."
- On an entity whose only Lift account is on LinkedIn Ads, the page shows No open opportunities in place of the list.
- On an entity that also has Google Ads, Meta or TikTok accounts, All lists their cards as usual.
Where to check the account
The entity's LinkedIn Ads tab lists each connected account under LinkedIn Ads accounts, with its Account ID and a status chip: Connected, or Needs reconnect with the cause under it. Press Reconnect there to sign in with LinkedIn again.
