How Lift works on Snapchat Ads
Lift checks every connected Snapchat Ads account once a day and lists what it finds as cards in Recommendations, ranked by the money at stake each day. Lift never creates, changes or pauses anything in Snapchat. To connect an account, see Connect Snapchat Ads for Lift.
What Lift reads
Lift reads the account on the connect screen, right after you connect it, and then every day:
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| The account | Its ID, name, organization, currency, time zone and Snapchat status |
| Your access | The role the signed-in Snapchat user holds on the account |
| Campaigns and ad sets | How many: "Connected: 4 campaigns, 12 ad sets" |
| Spend | Yesterday's total spend, in the account's currency |
When Snapchat reports no spend for the day, the line reads not available, never zero. If the first read does not answer, the account stays connected and Try again reads again.
Read only, on both sides
- Tapper sends only reads. Every request to Snapchat's ads API is a read. The only other request is the sign-in.
- The Data Analyst role. You sign in as a user with Snapchat's Data Analyst role, which can read reports and change nothing. If the user could change the account, the account list says so before you connect: "This user can change this account in Snapchat. Tapper only reads it, but a Data Analyst user is safer."
On the Lift page
- Snapchat Ads joins the platform tabs above the list, and the account appears in the Ad account filter.
- Each card names the campaign or ad set, what Lift found, the money at stake a day and what to change: see Read a Lift card: money, priority and evidence.
- Make the change in Snapchat Ads Manager, then press Mark as done, or dismiss the card: see Fix, mark as done, dismiss and revert.
- The entity list's Platforms column shows Snapchat Ads.
