Connect Snapchat Ads for Lift
You sign in to Snapchat as a separate user with the Data Analyst role, pick an organization, then tick the ad accounts. Every request Tapper sends to Snapchat's ads API is a read: nothing is created, changed or paused.
Before you start
- You need the Owner or Admin role. Manager and Viewer cannot connect. The Snapchat Ads row shows on workspaces with Lift.
- In Snapchat Business Manager, invite a separate user for Tapper, for example a shared team address, and give it Data Analyst on the ad accounts. Data Analyst reads reports and cannot change anything.
- Sign in as that user, not yourself. If Snapchat signs you in as yourself, log out first.
Steps
- From the wizard's Connect an ad account step or the Add an account page, press Connect Snapchat on the Snapchat Ads row, then Continue to Snapchat.
- Sign in as your Data Analyst user and allow Tapper access.
- In Organisation, pick the organization, for example "Northwind (3 ad accounts)". With only one, Tapper picks it. Changing it clears your ticks.
- Tick the ad accounts, paused ones included. Each shows its ID, currency, time zone and, if not active, its status (such as Paused). An account where the user has no role cannot be ticked. One the user could change reads "This user can change this account in Snapchat. Tapper only reads it, but a Data Analyst user is safer." and can still be connected.
- Press Connect (Connect 2 accounts with your count).
Tapper then reads each account once and shows:
| Line | Example |
|---|---|
| Campaigns and ad sets | Connected: 4 campaigns, 12 ad sets |
| Yesterday's spend | Spend yesterday (Oct 18, 2026): $1,240.00 |
Spend is in the account's currency, for the previous whole day in its time zone. Without a figure from Snapchat the line ends in not available, never a zero.
Done opens Lift's Recommendations from a Lift only wizard, returns to Connect an ad account in a wizard with Block, or opens the entity's page from Add an account. The entity's Platforms column then shows Snapchat Ads.
Tapper keeps each account's ID, name, organization, currency, time zone, whether the role can only read, and a Snapchat sign-in key, stored encrypted.
If something goes wrong
- Role or sign-in messages: Only a workspace owner or admin can connect an account and Connection failed, Sign-in cancelled or Connection status unknown.
- No Snapchat ad accounts found, or none in one organization: give the user Data Analyst on the accounts, or choose another organization. Connect again signs in afresh.
- "Your Snapchat sign-in has ended. Sign in with Snapchat again.": press Connect again.
- "Snapchat is busy right now. Try again in a minute.": wait a minute.
- "This ad account is connected to another Tapper workspace. Contact Tapper support to move it.": contact Tapper support.
- This Snapchat account is already connected: nothing to add.
When some accounts fail, the page reads, for example, "1 connected, 1 did not. Each account below says why." Press Choose accounts again to retry; connected accounts stay connected.
