Disconnect an ad account

Disconnecting takes an ad account off the entity: Tapper stops protecting its campaigns, or on a Lift-only workspace stops reading it. You need to be a workspace Owner or Admin.

Steps

  1. With several protected entities, pick the entity in the switcher under the workspace name. Under Setup, select Ad accounts.
  2. Open Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads or Microsoft Ads.
  3. On the account's row, open the ⋮ menu and click Disconnect.
  4. In Disconnect account, click Disconnect.

What happens in your ad account

  • Google Ads, with Block: Tapper puts back the account-level tracking template you had before, or leaves it empty if you had none. It needs access to do this: if the row shows Needs reconnecting, Not active or Needs attention, Tapper's template stays until you reconnect first or change it in Google Ads. Nothing else is removed: the "Tapper - " conversion actions, lists and audiences, and the exclusions on your campaigns, stay (the full list). Remove them in Google Ads if you no longer want them, or write to support@tapper.ai.
  • Meta, with Block: Tapper stops protecting the ad sets but does not take its audience exclusion off them. To remove it, switch Protection off on the Ad sets tab before you disconnect.
  • TikTok, with Block: Tapper stops recording invalid traffic. It changed none of your ad groups, so nothing needs taking off.
  • Microsoft Ads, with Block: nothing changes in the account. The tracking template, auto-tagging, conversion goals, UET tag and lists stay; change the template in Microsoft Ads if you no longer want it.
  • Lift-only workspace: Tapper set nothing up, so there is nothing to put back. Changes from Lift fixes you applied stay. Tapper stops reading the account.

What happens in Tapper

  • The account's open Lift cards close, with none of their money counted as saved.
  • To use it again, connect it with Add ad account (Add another ad account to an entity).
  • On a Lift-only workspace, an account live in one workspace cannot be connected in another. Disconnecting frees it.
  • Your product choice can change only while the workspace has no live ad account on any platform and no live mobile app integration (Choose your products).
