Vantage for lead generation
On this page
For teams that win customers through a lead form and record each lead's outcome in Salesforce.
What you connect
- Salesforce, read-only, on Setup > Data sources: Connect Salesforce (read-only).
- The Google click ID on each lead: Add the Click ID field to Salesforce leads.
- Your Google Ads accounts and a Tapper goal: Tapper goals.
What Vantage sends
With Tapper's team, you mark which Salesforce stages count, such as qualified or won, and which are junk. When a lead tied to an ad click reaches a stage that counts, Vantage sends Google a conversion for that stage. Its value is the deal amount in Salesforce, or the value you agreed for the stage.
- Each stage is its own conversion, so Google sees how far a lead went.
- If a deal moves to a cancelled stage after its value was sent, that value goes back to zero.
- Junk and unmapped stages send nothing. Leads from before you connected are never sent as conversions.
What the pilot measures
Extra qualified leads with Vantage, at the same spend, against your current setup. See How Tapper measures Vantage results.
Volume and timing
- Aim for about 500 leads a month in each half of the test.
- If your sales cycle runs 60 days or more, the pilot is judged on an earlier step that shows within one to two weeks, such as a qualified lead or a booked meeting.
- The pilot runs 90 days: models deployed between day 30 and day 60, the result read on day 90.
- The first two weeks of the test are learning and are left out of the result. Tapper checks in with you every two weeks.
- Keep budget changes under about 20% during the test, in both halves.
Usual blockers
- Leads without a click ID. Only leads tied to an ad click carry a value.
- No agreed meaning of qualified, or junk leads such as job seekers in a stage that counts.
- Too few leads in each half.
- Test campaigns not on value-based bidding, or limited by budget.
