Data center and hosting network traffic
Tapper looks at the network behind each click. Clicks from data centers and hosting providers are far more likely to be bots than clicks from home or mobile connections, so Tapper weighs the network heavily when it decides whether a click is invalid.
What this means for you
- There is nothing to switch on. The network check is part of how Tapper judges every click. See How Tapper decides a click is invalid.
- Visitors on ordinary connections are not treated this way. Real customers who happen to use a cloud service are judged with the rest of the signals, not by their network alone.
- To keep a specific address out of your ads yourself, add it on Setup > Excluded IPs. See Manually exclude IP addresses and ranges.
- If a real customer was blocked, see A real customer was blocked: what you can do.
