Suspicious ad click prevention

On this page

Suspicious ad click prevention flags ad clicks where the monitoring script loads but no later interaction or event is recorded. This often points to low-quality traffic, bots or a technical problem.

How it works

  • Detection. Tapper looks at ad clicks where no interactions (page views, scrolls, clicks) occur after the script loads.
  • Limit. You set how many such clicks one IP may make before Tapper blocks it. A new entity starts with 3.

Why it matters

  • Less wasted ad spend. Suspicious clicks often come from invalid traffic that never converts.
  • Better campaign quality. Your traffic and performance metrics stay accurate.
  • Early problem detection. The same pattern can reveal tracking errors or connectivity problems on your site.

Change the limit

  1. Under Setup, click Rule sets and pick the rule set.
  2. On Detection features, type the number in the Suspicious ad clicks row. It saves shortly after you stop typing.
