Monitoring script installation
On this page
The monitoring script lets Tapper analyze visitor behavior on your website and catch invalid ad clicks. Google Tag Manager (GTM) must already be installed on your website; Google shows the steps when you sign up to GTM.
1. Copy the script from Tapper
- With several protected entities, pick the entity in the sidebar switcher.
- Under Setup, click Website, then Monitoring.
- Click Copy monitoring script, then open Google Tag Manager.
2. Create a new tag in GTM
Go to Tags in your GTM workspace and click New.
3. Set up the tag configuration
Select Tag Configuration, choose Custom HTML and paste the script into the HTML field.
4. Choose the trigger
Under Triggering, select Initialization - All Pages, so the script runs as every page starts loading.
5. Name and save the tag
Name it, for example "Tapper - All Pages Monitoring Script", and click Save.
6. Publish the changes
Click Submit, enter a version name and description, and click Publish.
7. Check that the script is active
Use GTM's Preview mode to confirm the tag fires on every page, or inspect your live site's page source or developer tools. See Check that the monitoring script is working on your site.
The same steps with the Tapper - Monitoring Script template: Install the monitoring script with Google Tag Manager.
